The Field Press

Grisham Field Press

Grisham Field Press is my Company’s publishing imprint. I publish literary, scientific, educational, historical, and naturalist work in print, digital, and audio formats: books, essays, field journals, oral histories, and related media, written to be accurate to the land and the people they describe and made to last.

Now available

Clouds: A Family, a Farm, and a Cotton Farmer’s Poetic License

A natural history of one family and the Delta that raised it.

A field biologist turns the ecologist’s eye on his own family and the disappearing Delta that made them.

Hardcover, paperback, and ebook, published September 7, 2026. A large print paperback is coming in October 2026.

Coming summer 2027

Operation Triple Crown

If you knew the names, you knew the game.

A group of teenage idiots, a few grown men who should’ve known better, and not a single synaptic linkage among us.

Upcoming signings

Saturday, November 14, 2026

Buffalo Island Museum, 207 West Drew Avenue, Monette, Arkansas

Time to be announced.

Bring your own copy of Clouds and I will sign it, or buy one there: I will have paperback and hardcover copies at the table.

More signings will be listed here as they are set.

For writers

The Press also takes on a small number of books by other writers, especially colleagues whose work fits it: literary, scientific, educational, historical, or naturalist. I bring the writing and editing skills of a scientist, what I have learned taking Clouds from manuscript to print, and expertise in the subjects the Press covers.

Every book gets its own quote and its own written agreement, made after a first conversation, that spells out what I will do and any fees. The first conversation costs nothing and commits no one. To ask about a manuscript, write to me at grishamfieldandfeather@gmail.com with a few lines about the book and a sample chapter.
